Women and Adolescent Girls Mobilized for their Health<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

The project “Women and Adolescents Mobilized for Their Health” (FAMS) focuses on empowering women and adolescent girls in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC).<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Its goal? To improve access to sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) in the provinces of Kinshasa, Kasai, and Kasai Central, by addressing the root causes of gender inequalities that hinder the rights and well-being of thousands of women and young girls.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

FAMS targets the cultural, social, and structural barriers that limit equitable access to healthcare in fragile contexts. The project engages a wide range of local actors, from women’s rights organizations to health authorities, to create spaces for dialogue and action where the voices of women and adolescents are heard.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Through this inclusive approach, FAMS aims to transform the living conditions of Congolese women by strengthening their agency and ensuring SRHR services tailored to their specific needs.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The project is carried out in partnership with the Ministry of Public Health, Hygiene, and Social Protection (MSPHPS) of the DRC and aligns with national priorities on adolescent health, reproductive health, and the fight against gender-based violence.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
