{"id":1846,"date":"2021-06-03T20:19:33","date_gmt":"2021-06-03T20:19:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/santemonde.org\/projets\/redisse\/"},"modified":"2022-11-02T18:22:42","modified_gmt":"2022-11-02T18:22:42","slug":"redisse","status":"publish","type":"projets","link":"https:\/\/santemonde.firmecreative.com\/en\/projets\/redisse\/","title":{"rendered":"REDISSE"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Regional disease surveillance systems enhancement project in West Africa<\/strong><\/p>\n<div class=\"text-container detail-text\">\n<p class=\"leadParagraph\">Officially launched in 2016 and planned to last seven years, the \u201cRegional Disease Surveillance Systems Enhancement Project in West Africa\u201d (REDISSE) is a vast programme designed as a series of interdependent projects implemented in three phases, involving and supporting Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) member countries and Mauritania.<\/p>\n<p class=\"leadParagraph\">REDISSE aims to strengthen national and regional cross-sectoral capacity for collaborative disease surveillance and effective response in West Africa, with a focus on improved epidemic preparedness, particularly through the implementation of a \u201cOne Health\u201d approach.<\/p>\n<p>Funded by the World Bank with a budget exceeding US $ 380 million, REDISSE includes a CA $ 20 million contribution from the Government of Canada managed by the West African Health Organization (WAHO). Under this funding, Sant\u00e9 Monde, as WAHO\u2019s implementing partner, was given two mandates to support the establishment of a total of 107 Centres for Epidemiological Surveillance (CES).<\/p>\n<p>More specifically, Sant\u00e9 Monde\u2019s role is to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Implement a structured field epidemiology training programme for data managers or surveillance officers working at the peripheral level, in 107 districts (or equivalent) in close collaboration with relevant national authorities;<\/li>\n<li>Carry out formative supervision of training participants, as an integral part of this training programme;<\/li>\n<li>Provide supported units with computer equipment.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Sant\u00e9 Monde\u2019s support to health districts (or equivalent) to strengthen analytical skills and surveillance data management is done in collaboration with Fondation M\u00e9rieux, whose mandate is to support capacity building at the laboratory level within the same districts. Together, Sant\u00e9 Monde and Fondation M\u00e9rieux have contributed to the establishment of :<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>47 CES in Guinea, Guinea Bissau, Liberia, Sierra Leone and Togo (2017-2018);<\/li>\n<li>60 CES in B\u00e9nin, Mali, Mauritanie, Niger et Nig\u00e9ria (2020-2022).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"featured_media":1756,"template":"","regions":[52],"class_list":["post-1846","projets","type-projets","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","regions-africa-en"],"acf":[],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/santemonde.firmecreative.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/projets\/1846","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/santemonde.firmecreative.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/projets"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/santemonde.firmecreative.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/projets"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/santemonde.firmecreative.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/1756"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/santemonde.firmecreative.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=1846"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"regions","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/santemonde.firmecreative.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/regions?post=1846"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
